On their third album, From Death to Destiny, English hard-rocking heroes Asking Alexandria serve up spine-tingling metalcore. Opening tune “Don’t Pray For Me” begins deceptively with glitchy, string-heavy calm—until savage distortion and drums lay ruin to the stillness. In singer Danny Worsnop’s last appearance with the band, he lets loose with growling, death metal-style vocals on tunes like “Poison.” Elsewhere, as on the chugging “Creature,” he sends a thrilling chorus straight into the stratosphere. When the breakneck metal rage of “Until The End” closes the curtains, only darkness remains.
